EJ Montgomery officially declared for the 2020 NBA Draft, becoming the fifth Kentucky Wildcat starter to enter the draft.
The sophomore averaged 6.1 points and 5.4 rebounds last season.
"Someone is going to get a big-time prospect with EJ," said John Calipari.
Montgomery joins teammates Nick Richards, Immanuel Quickley, Ashton Hagans, and Tyrese Maxey in entering the draft.
Nick Richards officially declared for the 2020 NBA Draft, becoming the fourth Kentucky Wildcat starter to enter the draft.
Richards also signed with an agency.
Richards, who averaged 14 points per game last season, is ranked No. 59 on ESPN's Top 100.
Richards joins other Wildcat starters Immanuel Quickley, Ashton Hagans, and Tyrese Maxey in turning pro.
Immanuel Quickley is entering the 2020 NBA Draft. Quickley is the No. 58 prospect in the draft, according to ESPN.
"I've decided to forgo my remaining eligibility by declaring for the 2020 NBA Draft and signing with an agent," Quickley wrote to ESPN. "I want to thank Coach Cal, the entire UK coaching staff and administration, my brothers/teammates, and Big Blue Nation for all your love and support the past two years. I'm grateful for everyone that helped me along my journey."
Quickley averaged 18.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in conference play, shooting 48% from 3 and 92% from the free throw line.
Creighton graduate transfer Davion Mintz announced his commitment to Kentucky.
"I chose Kentucky because I believe it gave me the biggest platform to demonstrate my skill set, to lead with and without the ball in my hands. I want to use my playing experience there to help have an immediate impact on winning games, enjoying a winning culture. I believe that Coach Cal and his leadership puts me in the best position to have an opportunity to play at the next level," said Mintz.
Mintz, who missed last season due to an ankle injury, averaged 9.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists for the 2018-19 season.
Kahlil Whitney is declaring for the 2020 NBA Draft and will hire an agent.
"I have decided to declare for the 2020 NBA draft," Whitney told ESPN. "I truly believe in my development and grind. I want to thank my coaches, fans, trainers and family for ongoing support. My journey will be inspiring to kids and athletes all over the globe. #provethemwrong"
Whitney arrived at Kentucky as a projected lottery pick but withdrew from school in January.
Despite struggling to find his footing at the college level, Whitney, the No. 80 NBA draft prospect in the ESPN 100, is still expected to draw second-round interest from NBA teams.
Keion Brooks Jr. announced that he will return to Kentucky for his sophomore season.
Brooks, who considered leaving for the draft, averaged 4.5 points and 3.2 rebounds in 31 games last season.
Brooks was the No. 36 rated recruit coming out of high school by ESPN.
"Keion improved as much as anyone on our team. This season was great for him. He learned about himself, he learned about the game and he learned about what it takes to be special," said John Calipari.
Tyrese Maxey has declared for the 2020 NBA Draft, leaving Kentucky after his freshman season.
"My thoughts were that we would be playing for a national championship (today)," Maxey told ESPN. "Although we're unable to do that due to what our country is experiencing, I felt like this was the day to declare for the draft to make it as special as I thought today would be."
Maxey is the No. 8 prospect in the ESPN Top 100.
Kentucky sophomore Ashton Hagans declared for the 2020 NBA Draft.
Hagans, the No. 49 prospect according to ESPN, averaged 11.5 points and 6.4 assists for the Wildcats.
John Calipari highlighted Hagans' defensive ability.
"We know what Ashton can do to change the game defensively and how much better he got offensively, but what's going to separate him is his competitiveness. That kid is a winner. His competitive spirit drives him and is why I love him," said Calipari.
